Terms of Service

Who can use PrepYak

You must be at least 16 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it for a service that connects you with people you do not know. You must give accurate information about yourself and keep your account to yourself: one person, one account.

What PrepYak is

PrepYak suggests study partners based on the profile you fill in, and gives matched partners a private chat. We do not check anyone's identity, qualifications or intentions, and a match is a suggestion, not a guarantee that someone will reply, show up or be a good fit. Use the same judgement you would with anyone you meet online.

House rules

PrepYak is for studying. While you use it, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone.
• Send unwanted romantic or sexual messages. This is not a dating service.
• Pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your exam, age or identity.
• Send spam, advertising, scams, or requests for money.
• Share content that is illegal, hateful or sexually explicit, or that infringes someone's rights.
• Collect other members' information, or use PrepYak with bots, scrapers or automated tools.
• Try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Service.

Every profile and chat has block and report. If someone breaks these rules, block them and report them. We review reports and may warn, restrict or remove accounts at our discretion.

Your content

You own what you write and share. You give us permission to store, display and transmit it so the Service works: showing your profile to other members, delivering your messages and files to your partner, and sending notifications about them. You are responsible for what you share and for having the right to share it.

Your account

You can delete your account at any time from the profile page. Deletion permanently removes your profile, requests, matches and messages. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these terms, are inactive for a very long time, or put other members at risk.

Cost

PrepYak is currently free. If we ever introduce paid features, we will say so clearly before you are charged for anything.

Disclaimers

PrepYak is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you will find a partner or pass your exam. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the conduct of other members, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months (which, while PrepYak is free, is zero).

Changes

We may update these terms as PrepYak grows. We will post changes here with a new date and tell you about significant ones in the app or by email. Continuing to use PrepYak after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute cannot be resolved by talking to us first, it will be handled by the courts there.
